Step 1: Group the Big Moments with Custom Albums
Think of albums as your digital scrapbooks. Did you go on an Alaskan Cruise last summer? Instead of letting those memories get lost in a sea of thousands of other images, give them an organized, dedicated home by creating a "2025 Alaska Cruise" album.
While the app gives you a few different ways to sort and organize your files, here is my absolute favorite, foolproof method to build an album:
Open the app and select View Files Now.
Tap "Select Multiple Files" in the interface.
Tap each of the photos you want to group together.
Press and hold one of the selected images until the Options Menu pops up.
Tap "Move" to open the Albums menu. From here, you can choose an existing album or create a brand-new one!
Tap "Move" at the bottom of your screen to instantly transfer your photos into your new album.
Step 2: Use Smart Tags to Organize Specific Details
Albums are perfect for entire trips, but what if you want to find something specific across multiple trips? That’s where tagging shines.
Want to find every picture of a waterfall or flower you’ve ever taken, or quickly pull up photos of a specific location like Las Vegas or Miami?
Here is how easy it is to tag an image:
Press and hold on the specific image you want to tag.
Select "Add Tag" from the menu.
Type in your custom tag (like Cat or Glacier).
Tap "Save."
⚡ PRO TIP: Lightning-Fast Multi-Tagging
What if you want to add multiple tags at once? Say you have a beautiful picture of a wildflower from a Pacific Northwest road trip and you want to tag it with both Flower and Oregon. Instead of tapping "Save" after the first word, simply hit "Done" on your phone’s keyboard. This lets you type another tag immediately! Add as many as you like, then save when you're finished.
Step 3: Find What You Need Instantly with Filters
Now that you’ve done the work, reaping the rewards takes less than five seconds. When you want to stroll down memory lane without the endless scrolling, just use your new search power:
From the main View Files screen, tap the Filter icon in the top right corner.
Tap "Tags" to see your list of every custom tag you’ve created.
Click on the specific tag you want to look at (e.g., Dog).
Select Apply Filter.
Boom! Your screen will instantly display only the images matching that exact tag.
All done looking? Just tap the filter icon again, select "Clear Filter," and tap "Apply Filter" to return right back to your default view.
