System Requirements

  • Android Devices: Android 8.0 and Later

⚠️ Attention Google Pixel Users

ThePhotoStick Omni only works with Pixel 8 and later. It is not compatible with previous Pixel models. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Step 1: Install ThePhotoStick® Omni App

Download the FREE ThePhotoStick Omni app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to begin organizing and protecting your photos and videos.

There are two ways to install the mobile app onto your device:

1. Search for ThePhotoStick Omni app in your device’s app store. You can also use the link below to go directly to your device's app store.

2. Scan the QR code below with your mobile device. You can also find this QR code in the Quick Start Guide included with your ThePhotoStick Omni X.

Step 2: Open the App and Accept Permissions

Open ThePhotoStick Omni app.

If prompted for All File Access, toggle it to "Allow permission."

Then tap the back arrow in the upper-left corner to return to the app.

Step 3: Plug ThePhotoStick® Omni X Into Your Device

Plug ThePhotoStick Omni X into your phone or tablet using the Micro-USB or USB-C port.

💡 Beginner Tip #1

Certain phone cases may need to be removed in order to ensure a proper connection. A red LED light will appear when ThePhotoStick Omni X is connected to your device.

Step 4: Follow the In-App Tutorial

Tap the "GET STARTED" button to begin the in-app tutorial.

Once you have finished viewing the quick tutorial video, tap the "CONNECT DEVICE" button if you are ready to continue, or tap “WATCH VIDEO AGAIN” if needed.

💡 Beginner Tip #2

Ensure your device and ThePhotoStick Omni X are properly and securely connected. The red indicator light will appear when your device and ThePhotoStick Omni X are successfully connected.

Step 5: Direct the Drive

This crucial step ensures your files are backed up to the proper location and securely stored on ThePhotoStick Omni X's drive.

Tap the Options Menu (the three little lines in the top-left corner).

Select the drive named "PHOTOSTICK."

⚠️ Important!

Please note that some phones and tablets may show the drive name as "generic USB device" rather than "PHOTOSTICK."

Tap the blue "USE THIS FOLDER" button at the bottom of your screen.

Enable All Files Access by tapping the "ALLOW" option, then tap the back arrow in the upper left corner of your screen.

If prompted, always grant permissions for full file access, so ThePhotoStick Omni X can back up every precious photo and video from your device.

💡 Beginner Tip #3

Tapped the wrong button and didn't allow full access? No problem! Visit the app's "Settings" menu to allow ThePhotoStick Omni X full access to your device's media library.

Success! Your device is now connected

Tap the "CONTINUE" button to return to the app's home screen and begin your first backup.

Step 6: Start Your First File Backup

Now for the fun part! You get to decide how you want to save your memories.

Tap the "BACK UP FILES NOW" button.

Then, choose how you'd like to back up your files.

Not sure which option you should choose?

  • Tap the "BACK UP ALL FILES" button, and ThePhotoStick Omni X will automatically search through every hidden folder you forgot about and grab everything on your phone.
  • Tap the "BACK UP SELECTED FILES" button to manually hand-pick the specific photos, videos, and files you want to save.
  • Tap the "ADVANCED: SELECTED FILE TYPES" button to filter by Images, Videos, Contacts, Audio, or Documents.

💡 Beginner Tip #4

If you have thousands of files, make sure your phone is fully charged before you start. ThePhotoStick Omni X is fast, but a massive library can take some time to fully back up.

Extra Help: Pausing Your File Backup

If your phone battery starts to drain or you need to use your phone for something else, you can pause your backup without losing progress.

Tap "PAUSE BACKUP" to briefly stop the backup process.

Then, tap "RESUME BACKUP" to pick up right where you left off.

Step 7: View Your Files

Once your backup is complete, tap the "VIEW FILES" button on the Home Screen.

From here, you can view every photo and video that has been backed up to your ThePhotoStick Omni X.
